Construction of the Jacques Clouché Multi-Sport Center

A Structuring Integration Extending a Developing Space
The Jacques Clouché Sports Complex is an extension of a large playground area that includes a stadium, a football field, a dojo, a pétanque court, tennis courts, and an expanding archery center. The design of the building and its surrounding landscape spaces was therefore shaped by a reflection on how the sports complex should integrate into this environment.
Thus, the building was oriented to create a perspective that enhances its presence. At night, the translucent materials that make up the building are illuminated from the inside, highlighting its colorful design, contrasting with its more understated daytime architecture. The integration was carried out within the landscape matrix, respecting its green and blue frameworks (vegetal and hydraulic) while leaving open spaces for potential future extensions and developments.

A Softly Emerging Architectural Identity
The architecture was designed with a resolutely contemporary approach, relying on the simplicity of mineral elements to assert its identity. The building then appears fully integrated into the landscape, creating transitions and interactions with its surroundings; the roof contributes to creating shaded areas in the recreational zones created by the landscape. Wood and stone in the construction engage in a dialogue with the natural elements. The building’s entrance is conceived as a transition: a slit in the concrete, within which warmer wooden elements appear, gradually taking up more space within the building.

Functional and Modular Postulates
The multi-sport complex houses a program staged within the building and visible from the outside. The volume of the base allows for the expression of three distinct vertical volumes, highlighting the three main modules of the sports complex: the competition hall, the gymnastics hall, and the space dedicated to pelota.

Interior functionality is characterized by distinct circulation paths for athletes and the general public, although they remain in interaction. The same applies to the large modules, which can be used concurrently or combined for competitions. This modularity is complemented by the telescopic and transportable stands.
