SPORTS IN THE CITY – SPORTS HERITAGE

2024 was the year of sport. It included the Olympic Games in Paris, and in Bordeaux, the 100th anniversary of the first sports park in Lescure (Chaban-Delmas). This is the third book in the series. It brings together the proceedings from study days held on October 17 and 18, 2024, at the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme of Bordeaux Montaigne University. The event was organized by Bordeaux Métropole, the City of Bordeaux, and the François-Georges Pariset Center.

The book includes 14 contributions written by 21 authors from different backgrounds (architects, urban planners, sports historians, heritage specialists, etc.). It highlights the recent growing interest in sports facilities as part of heritage, especially since their uses and needs are constantly changing, requiring ongoing transformation.
