“Cities in transition. This large concrete building, constructed in the 1960s and later converted in 1979 into a concert hall, is now returning to its original purpose.
Located in the heart of Bordeaux’s historic district, between Cours Victor-Hugo and Cours d’Alsace-et-Lorraine, the Palais des Sports has just undergone a complete renovation. Originally built in the 1960s as a concrete structure, it was transformed in 1979 into a concert hall to host the Bordeaux National Orchestra. It has now returned to its original function.After two and a half years of work, it was inaugurated in February. This space of over 5,000 square meters now hosts professional basketball and volleyball teams, local neighborhood associations, and schools.”
