“Built in 1954 by architect Claude Ferret, this former fire station, now owned by Eiffage, is set to house a hotel and 103 apartments 40% of which will be social housing by 2028.
In this large area on Bordeaux’s right bank, vintage furniture sourced from flea markets gives the space a 1950s atmosphere. At the center, a bar serves local beers and beverages, along with shared plates of food. While the place has all the makings of a trendy new hangout where people enjoy the last rays of sun on a large terrace overlooking the Garonne certain elements are a clear nod to its former use. In the back, an old fire truck. Large garage doors still open wide to welcome visitors.
“La Caserne B” has now taken the place of the Benauge fire station at least until the first half of 2026…”
