The video presentation of one of the most intricate and impressive operation of the construction of the ‘Grand Stade Lille Métropole’: the hoisting of the roof weighing 7000 tons with a surface area of 1.6 acres.
The roof has first been assembled on the ground – structure and covering – and hoisted. The hoisting of the roof has been realized under thorough meteorological supervision. During its ascension, it could have been stopped had the speed of the wind exceeded 74 km/h.
This operation lasted about 8 hours.
