Conference on the architecture of the “BAUHAUS” in Bruges, Tuesday 1 February 2022
The Espace Culturel Treulon in Bruges offers lectures on architecture presented by Caroline Mazel of Médiarchi.
The first one is scheduled on February 1st at 8:30 pm and deals with the subject of "BAUHAUS - Between continuity, rupture and posterity".
The Bauhaus was originally the idea of reconciling an elite art with the people. Beauty on one side and utility on the other. The form must serve the function. Caroline Mazel will explain how the Bauhaus has and will continue to inspire architecture.
And to illustrate this architecture, we have stopped on an emblematic building of this Bauhaus architecture: the famous fire station of the Benauge on the right bank of Bordeaux.
We will better understand why the architects Claude Ferret, Yves Salier and Adrien Courtois gave this shape to the fire station. This is a fire station that we have not finished hearing about since the firemen will leave it in the next few months. So what will become this emblematic building of the city of Bordeaux which is now protected.
